TAG Institute is proud to have been working with eminent artists from the music industry.
We have hosted events and recording sessions for well know percussionists, music composers and singers. We would love to share with you some memories and snippets of few of the many sessions!

In December 2020 we had an amazing experience working on an upcoming project with the amazing Indian rapper, lyricist, music composer and television personality Raftaar. We recorded the mandolin and other plucked string instruments, played by versatile session artist Tapas Roy. He is Bollywood’s go to guy for string instruments. With some amaziing music produced by Saurabh Lokhande.
For string recording sessions, figuring out the strings role and spatial relevance is half the battle. And with our experienced sound engineers and directors of TAG Institute, Mr. Jayakrishnan Nalinkumar (JK) and Mr. Anupam Sathe you can be sure the set-up is just perfect. Our student Prateek Sarkar was assisting on this, which is a great learning experience for our students. In about 15 minutes we were ready with our best string sound.

Last year again in December 2020, we had an awesome project of Nakash Aziz, a respected music composer and singer. Nakash has worked with the likes of A.R. Rahman in the past. It was a great experience to be working on this project. It being a percussion arrangement and recording session by the talented Dipesh Varma, a reputed multi percussionist and disciple of Rhythm maestro Ustad Taufiq Qureshi, was an interesting project to complete.
Setting up the microphones for the session was quite comfortable, since we have a spacious studio C with ample height to accommodate such events at TAG. It was a great experience, and in almost 10 hours we wrapped up the project. From the TAG team we had Mr. Anupam Sathe and assisting him was Mr. Shashank Sahu. Both being sound engineers and respected faculty at TAG Institute.

In January 2021, we had an exciting day while recording a strings session for Rishabh’s upcoming film. A string orchestra needs a space for the sound to integrate and become coherent, thus requiring a large room with ample height for distant-miking techniques. And our Studio C was just the right choice for it. Recording something from the string section can be a pretty intimidating task; strings are often considered the most expressive instruments we have, second only to the human voice
The session with Rishabh, was a 9-piece orchestra with 6 violins, 3 violas and a cello. All arrangements and set-up was done to the T by our director and faculty Mr. Jayakrishnan Nalinkumar with assistance from TAG Institute students like Sarvesh George, Vaishnav Satheesh, Benet Braganza and Ansuman Das.
We had the likes of violinist and arranger Mr. Jitendra Jawda and music producer and composer Deepp C and Rishabh conducting the orchestra. TAG has a vast collection of microphones and outboard gear from the likes of Neumann, Sennheiser, AKG, Rode, Earthworks, Manley, Shure, Audix, JBL, API, Solid State Logic, Cranesong, Midas among many more.

In January 2021 we got the opportunity to work with the Indian sitar maestro Purbayan Chatterjee and his lovely wife the famous singer Gayatri Asokan. Male vocals were by the popular singer and composer Amarabha Banerjee. The project was for an upcoming track. We arranged for a video shoot and a live recording session with Gayatri Asokan. Such events are spread over the entire day, with various arrangements required for video shoot and live recording. Our team of experienced sound engineers and faculty members like Mr. JK, Mr. Anupam Sathe and Mr. Shashank Sahu, made it a smooth and enjoyable process.
