Sachin–Jigar are an Indian music composer, singer, music producer, music director and arranger duo. They have arranged and programmed for big names such as A.R. Rahman, Amit Trivedi, Anu Mallik, Pritam, Vishal - Shekhar and many more before they started their journey to be independent composers in 2009.
They then composed songs for films like Life Partner, F.A.L.T.U, Kya Super Kool Hain Hum, OMG: Oh My God!, A.B.C.D : Any Body Can Dance, Go Goa Gone and many more.
TAG had the pleasure to host them on their visit to record drums and guitars for one of their tracks. On the drums there was Darshan Doshi and on guitars there was Rhythm Shaw. The end goal of the track wasn’t disclosed until much later when it was revealed that it was for a web series that was to be released on Amazon Prime Video.
This session was a lot of fun with Rhythm Shaw's finesse and his attention to minute details and his knack for adding beautiful intricacies to whatever he plays. This, paired with Darshan's amazing sense of beat and his style of playing, not only made the recording experience a rich one, but also left us with an end result which was a beautiful mix that sounded refined and sophisticated.
We used our newly acquired Shadow Hills preamps and Neve compressors, which made the sound colorful, beefy and rounded. It also made sure that the drums sounded perfect. None of this, of course, could have been possible without our very own JK as the engineer on this project who juiced out his capabilities to the max and made sure that the output was nothing but the best!
The Drums were recorded with a combination of Audix drum mic kit and earthworks SR25. This gave a edgy and a cut through tone to those rather beefy grooves of darshan
