The journey of every music producer begins with curiosity, nervousness, excitement and courage to experiment. The students - Batch 19 from The Audio Guys Institute had their first class of Advanced Music Production, which was led by experienced faculty members and industry professionals.
The session was led by Steve Thomas Kottoor, Music Production Faculty, along with Jayakrishnan Nalinkumar, Co-founder and faculty, helped us understand the importance of this course and how it would help us to expand our knowledge and skills further.
An Overview of Day 1 of Advanced Music Production:
Steve Thomas Kottoor started the day by addressing the students and explaining that we grow by taking on challenges. These challenges push us to do our best. He revised the basics and further encouraged us to experiment with new concepts and explore creative directions. The main aim was to encourage and motivate students to give their best and perform better.
Moreover, the faculty strongly emphasized constructive feedback. He also explained that trial and error are a part of the process and they shouldn’t feel disheartened. Students were informed during the course they would receive detailed feedback on their work. The main aim was to help them grow, hone their skills and identify mistakes – so that they could learn from them and become better at their work.
By regularly evaluating work and discussing areas of improvement, the faculty aims to create a positive environment where students can freely share their work, which helps them to improve simultaneously.
The faculty did not only focus on theory but also on practical learning from discussing ideas to experimenting with sounds and concepts to developing complete music productions. Students were encouraged to think creatively during the session and explore different ideas and concepts. The main aim is to build confidence and find their true identity in the field of music.
The hands-on approach helped students to gain real-world knowledge that could be applied in real life while understanding the technical aspects of music production.
Overall, the first day of the Diploma in advanced music production – Batch 19 marked the beginning of an exciting learning journey. The faculty at The Audio Guys Institute brushed up on the basics and instructed them on the requirements that would help them grow in the field of music.
