Suraj Sabu’s Musical Journey: Bringing Vision to Life

July 13, 2026

Many a times, the everyday conversations with our loved ones leads to the most remarkable journeys. In our recent reel, we experience Suraj Sabu, a student from the Diploma in Advanced Music Production (Batch 22) at The Audio Guys Institute and his mother having a mundane conversation about Suraj’s dream about learning music. It’s a reminder that dreams take a long time to unfold into reality.

That conversation sets the stage for what’s next, it’s a showcase of dedication, creativity, determination and technical excellence.

Suraj has set his heart, mind and soul on re-orchestrating the ‘Sub-Lift’ from X-men: First Class Soundtrack.

Understanding Re-orchestration:

Re-orchestration goes way beyond that just recreating an existing piece of song, it includes meticulously studying every layer of composition, understanding it’s emotional depth and re-crafting it using orchestral arrangements while maintaining the original crux of the song. The process involves assigning melody, harmony and rhythm to new instruments while ensuring the meaning of the song remains the same. It’s a challenging process as it demands musical knowledge, attention to detail and patience. Re-orchestration enables composers to experiment with different orchestral combinations, it’s effortless as they don’t have to write chord progressions or new melodies.

Budding composers or music producers, these projects serve as an excellent opportunity to hone skills in orchestration, MIDI programming, arrangement and overall production techniques. Composers should take up such projects as they help them to learn and develop the confidence in interpreting and re-creating complex pieces.

Throughout Suraj’s Journey at TAG, he has demonstrated the need of consistent practice and an open mind to new challenges. Recreating a piece is much more than simply copying the notes, it includes a thorough knowledge of understanding each note and how it adds value to the song.

The reels showcases a glimpse of Suraj’s workflow, featuring audio production scenes and digital audio workstation. The reel doesn’t showcase the countless number of hours of hard work Suraj has put into behind the scenes. Moreover, it also tells us that technical precision is also required to re-orchestrate a piece of music using a modern music production software.

What makes this project inspiring and memorable is the emotional context behind it, it reminds us that behind all our achievements is a person supporting us and believing in our dreams. Words of encouragement can act like motivators and are truly needed when someone’s pursuing a creative field.

At The Audio Guys Institute, we believe in holistic development and learning, it’s more than mastering a software or understanding theory. Real growth takes place when students hone their skills – when they are able to experiment with different ideas that helps them prepare for the real world.

If you have ever dreamed of creating music that evokes emotions and tells stories, this is a reminder to follow that dream. This reel serves as a testament to the love for music. Stay Tuned for the full version.
