Introduction
With these encouraging words, Jayakrishnan Nalinkumar set a tone for an exciting stamina test conducted by The Audio Guys Institute. The event was played out in a different style, as the faculty conducted the session in a sports day scenery scenario. The experience was quite unique and memorable as students got to understand the importance of stamina, being prepared and embracing every challenge without any fear in an unconventional manner.
When the classroom turned into a sports arena:
The atmosphere transformed into a sports arena where spirits were high. Students participated wholeheartedly with enthusiasm, pushing their limits to stay focused on the particular task given at hand. Through this activity, students understood the importance of stamina in the live sound industry. Stamina in the live sound industry goes beyond physical endurance but also possessing the mental strength to remain attentive and adapt to situations.
Students were in ecstasy when two students emerged as record breakers, setting a benchmark for the challenge. Among them, was a student who gave his all and went a step further and broke the existing record, creating one of the most memorable moments of the event. This activity brought out the competitive spirits in each and every one.
The sports day scenario highlighted an important detail that many people overlook, professionals in the industry have to work for long hours from checking the equipment before the event to the pack down, staying alert during the event and being prepared for the unexpected and immediately adapting to the situation is crucial. Sound checks are also important as it helps to ensure that everything is working in order. As there are no pause buttons during a live event so it's crucial to remain attentive and prepared as every moment matters. As even a small error could ruin the entire event.
Not only did the activity test individual performance but also encouraged students to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship. Being prepared and supporting each other was just as important as creating a record.
It was a unique and energetic experience that helped students to realise what it actually takes to stay ready in the fast-paced world. And when one student broke the record, the event ended on a high note – proving that when there's alertness and true sportsmanship, new records can be made.
